What could be better than savoring culinary delights while giving back to some of the most respected charities in the country? Feast for a good cause at this year’s Orange Bowl Food & Wine Celebration, taking place tomorrow, May 19th, at 7:30 pm at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd.
The finest and most popular dining establishments will be participating in this fabulous event, such as Artisan Beach House, 3030 Ocean, Boatyard, Matador Room by Jean-George Vongerichten, Spatch, S3, YOLO, Colada Cuban Coffee House & Eatery, The Salty Donut and We Take the Cake. Make sure your taste buds and appetite are ready!
Not only does the Orange Bowl Food & Wine Festival allow you to sample foods from 30 of South Florida's top restaurants, but will also feature live entertainment, raffle prizes and a silent auction. One South Florida resident will be honored with the 2017 Keith Tribble Community Service Excellence Award for the work they do to make a difference.
Don Slesnick, Orange Bowl president and chair, sums up the fundraiser as a significant evening that celebrates charity and community outreach.
"Other than our signature event, the Capital One Orange Bowl, the Orange Bowl Food & Wine Festival is our most important charitable outreach to the community," he says. "It's a night of extraordinary food and entertainment, and also celebrates everything the Orange Bowl stands for in giving back by generating funds for Make-A-Wish, Special Olympics and our own Orange Bowl Leadership Academy."
Just how much does the Orange Bowl contribute? At this year's event, approximately $100,000 will be given back to the South Florida community. This is in addition to the millions of dollars the Orange Bowl has already invested into the South Florida community through its four pillars of community outreach: youth sports, fundraising and community events, academic programs and scholarships, and legacy gifts
Florida Blue is the presenting sponser, while other event sponsors include Capital One, Coca-Cola, Dave & Buster's, Deloitte, Delta Business Solutions, Florida Prepaid College Board, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hard Rock Stadium, NCCI, Oak & Cane American Craft Rum, Pernod-Ricard USA Wines & Champagnes, Stella Artois, Toyota and Wizard Creations.
Tickets to Orange Bowl Food & Wine Celebration are $95. VIP tickets are $225 and include early admission, meet and greets with participating chefs, and an open bar.
